Essential Amino Acids
Histidine is used by your body to develop and maintain healthy tissues. It is in the myelin sheath, which coats nervous cells and ensures that messages get from your brain to your body. Adults can usually get enough from food, but this is crucial for kids during their growth and development. It is found in meat, poultry, fish, dairy and some grains like rice, wheat and rye. Fish like yellowfin tuna and mackerel are good sources. Others include, soybean tofu, chicken, beans, eggs, buckwheat, corn, bamboo shoots, bananas, cantaloupe and citrus fruits. A normal supplementation is between .5 and 20g per day.
