“DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS” – an anti-troll manifesto by Eric Matzner
I will not feed the trolls. I do not owe a troll a response, as that is what the troll wants. Like throwing fuel on a fire, responding to a troll begets more trolling, which results in an endless cycle of trolling. I will not let a troll get me riled up either, as that is what the troll wants. The troll wants me to get off topic, but in this, the troll will not succeed. I am here to stay focused on the topic of discussion at hand. I am here to discuss the topic and to hear other ideas and mix those ideas with my own. A troll does not require a response, they must deserve to receive one. I will turn the other cheek and walk away from trolls, I will not indulge them. I will not be dragged down to the troll’s level, then be beat by their trolling experience. I will learn my lesson, I will not feed the trolls.
